About Me

My photo
el Juano
I am a blogger from Western Massachusetts who focuses on entertainment issues. I tend to put a humorous spin on most subjects, but be assured that I take music seriously. My parents kept a pretty quiet house while I was a kid, so I didn’t gain a real appreciation for music until I was nearly a teenager. I feel like I’ve been trying to play catch-up since. I borrowed most of my best friend’s musical leanings - the whole sordid “I Was A Teenage Metalhead” blog post may be forthcoming (my first big concert was Kiss and Ted Nugent). But as I began to explore more territory in college, I found punk, funk, folk and beyond. I quickly learned that anything with a good beat, decent lyrics or some combination of the two could easily captivate my attention. Now, I can’t get enough – and Juano’s Addiction is my early attempt to share my thoughts on the state of the local and national music scene. The Western Mass area has some great talent, and I’d love to show that to everyone else!
